S. Pierce Street Roadway Improvements

This project involved roadway improvements for Pierce Street from Coal Mine Avenue to Bowles Avenue. The scope of work included the removal and replacement of existing asphalt pavement, concrete flatwork, and pedestrian ramps to ensure compliance with ADA standards. Concrete medians were removed and replaced to enhance traffic flow and safety. Additionally, the stormwater management system was upgraded with the installation of new stormwater pipes and inlets to improve drainage and reduce surface water issues.

Traffic signal infrastructure was updated, including the removal and replacement of traffic signals, luminaires, and push-button systems, with caisson drilling performed for structural support. Electrical work involved the installation of conduit and wiring using both directional boring and direct burial methods. A Redi-Rock block wall was constructed, featuring a concrete CLD wall coping along with fabricated railing and handrails for additional safety and durability.

The project also required utility relocations and surveying to accommodate the new roadway and infrastructure improvements. Signage and striping were installed to enhance roadway visibility and guidance for drivers and pedestrians. Landscaping efforts included seeding, the installation of topsoil, sod, and rockscape, as well as erosion control measures.
