Large-Diameter Culvert Rehab

The project was undertaken to address aging and failing drainage infrastructure, ensuring continued functionality and resilience while preparing for a future capital project to replace the roadway.

The scope of work focused on rehabilitating the large culvert on Upper Bear Creek Road at Bear Creek Crossing and replacing deteriorated pipes on Fall River Road at Silver Creek Crossing. The rehabilitation of the Bear Creek culvert involved slip lining a 96-inch Spirolite pipe, an approach designed to extend the service life of the existing structure without the need for full replacement.

On Fall River Road, the project included the removal of side-by-side culverts that had reached the end of their useful life and replacing them with two new 42-inch reinforced concrete pipes to improve drainage capacity and reliability. These improvements were essential for mitigating potential roadway and infrastructure failures in advance of the planned road replacement effort.
