Baseline Road Weir Outfall Replacement
The City of Brighton’s existing weir measurement structure along Baseline Road was a 5-foot rectangular sharp-crested weir with a fixed steel plate supported by 12-inch reinforced concrete walls extending into the ditch banks. The existing structure was substandard and required modification to meet its intended purpose. The project involved removing the existing structure and replacing it with a concrete long-throated flume structure.
The work completed included excavating and removing the existing weir outfall and associated stilling well, and replacing them with a new flume, stilling well, and telemetry equipment. Additionally, the project involved regrading both the upstream and downstream sides of the flume and placing armored riprap on the downstream side.
