South Adams Way Waterline Improvements

This project consisted of a waterline installation and service upgrade in a residential neighborhood in Centennial, CO. To modernizing the local water system, AWC replaced the existing asbestos cement pipes with durable PVC. The project involved the installation of approximately 1,420 linear feet of 8” C900 PVC and 125 linear feet of 4” C900 PVC, servicing 34 residential homes. The work was performed using the pull method, which minimized disruption to the surrounding area.

Key components of the installation included multiple restraint joints to ensure system integrity, the installation of gate valves for improved control, and the replacement of three hydrants to enhance fire protection. The existing asbestos waterline was safely abandoned and flow filled to prevent future issues.

In addition to the waterline work, the project included necessary surface restoration. Concrete repairs were made to sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and driveways affected by the installation process. The final phase of the project involved resurfacing with Hot Bituminous Asphalt, applied at a width of 7 feet and a depth of 10 inches.
