Summary:  Plans, directs, and implements organization safety program to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.  Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials. Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies. Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented. Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions. Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations. Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies. Oversees the administration of workers’ compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time. Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions. Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.

Qualifications

  • Can think outside the box;
  • Can conduct effective and engaging training;
  • Possess good leadership skills;
  • Good Computer knowledge and efficiency, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office products;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably Spanish;
  • Four years of experience in the field or in a related area;
  • Authorized OSHA 10 and 30-Hr. Constructor course instructor a plus;
  • Bachelor’s degree a plus;
  • CSP or CSHT certification a plus.

Title Project Manager
Location Denver Metro
Job Information

Position:  

Project manager is responsible for managing a wide range of earthmoving, utility, and other heavy/highway projects mostly within Colorado. Project management responsibilities include: project setup and planning, project scheduling, preparation of owner billings, job cost monitoring, subcontractor/vendor invoice preparation, change order pricing and negotiating, and managing job/project profitability. The position requires 45-55 hours per week with time split between the office and field. The PM will have extensive interaction with the field supervisors and owner’s representatives. This position may require some travel as some of our work is outside the Denver metropolitan area and/or out of state.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have a civil engineering or construction management degree and 5 years of heavy civil construction experience. The candidate must be able to read and interpret construction plans and be able to prepare quantity calculations. Excellent written skills, verbal communication, and computer knowledge are required. Knowledge of View Point construction accounting software is a plus. The candidate must be a motivated, detail oriented, and a self-starter with a positive attitude and good sense of humor. Performs tasks involving physical labor at building, highway, heavy construction projects, and demolition sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, clean up rubble and debris and use other equipment and perform related duties as assigned.
